Mount Tamalpais State Park Sunday Organized Hike Schedule

Hikes of a variety of levels of difficulty are offered Sundays, from easy to strenuous.

Please note all hikes are led by MTIA (Mt. Tamalpais Interpretive Association) volunteer hike leaders. Due to traffic conditions the morning of the hike, or a last minute illness of the hike leader, hikes can be canceled at the last minute. All hikes are scheduled to begin at 9:30 AM from the trailheads listed below. Please be on time.

In the event that the designated leader is not at the trailhead listed, it is recommended hikers seek advice at the Pantoll Ranger Station Information Kiosk or the East Peak Visitor Center where trail maps can also be purchased or seen on displays. Of course, you are advised to periodically check this web site for some last minute hike schedule changes as they are received.  You can also call the MTIA Hike Info phone for a recorded message that may contain last minute information on changes to hike scheduling at 415-258-2410.

The capital letters alongside the hikes indicate:

E	EASY SUNDAY HIKES	Slower paced hike 2 to 5 miles with under a 1000', elevation gain. For beginning hikers, senior hikers, and in-betweeners.
M	MODERATE SUNDAY HIKES	7 to 9-1/2 miles, over hilly, rocky terrain, up to a 2,200' elevation gain and are quick paced.
F	FASTER SUNDAY HIKES	Strenuous, aerobic, fast paced hike, 10 to 14 miles, with up to a 3500' elevation gain.
L	LONGER SUNDAY HIKES	Moderate (see above) paced, with a 10 -14 mile length.

MTIA recommends you start out with an Easy or Saturday hike, before going on a Moderate, Longer or Fast Paced, Sunday hike.
